Holi Celebration
The vibrant festival of colors, Holi, was celebrated on Friday,22 nd March 2024 with great enthusiasm and joy. The event aimed to introduce the preschoolers to the cultural significance of Holi while fostering a sense of community and fun.
In the days leading up to the event, the preschool staff decorated the premises with colorful streamers, artifacts, to create a festive ambiance.
The celebration commenced with a storytelling session where educators narrated the tale of Prahlad and Holika, explaining the legend behind Holi in a child-friendly manner. The teachers also spoke about the importance of playing with eco-friendly colours for the environment. Following the storytelling session, the children eagerly participated in the main highlight of the event – the color play. They joyfully smeared each other with eco-friendly colors, laughing and dancing amidst the kaleidoscope of hues. To further immerse the children in the Holi festivities, snacks such as pav bhaji and bondi laddoos were served. As part of the celebration, children engaged in art and craft activities related to holi, such as creating handprint Holi cards. These activities encouraged creativity and provided a platform for children to express themselves artistically. The in-house Holi celebration was a resounding success, fostering a sense of cultural awareness and camaraderie among the children. Through engaging activities and interactive learning experiences, the event not only celebrated the spirit of Holi but also promoted values of inclusivity, creativity, and joy. It was a memorable occasion that will be cherished by both the children and the staff for years to come. Graduation Day
The preschool graduation day marked a significant milestone in the lives of our little graduates on Saturday,2nd March 2024. It was a day filled with joy, pride, and nostalgia as parents, teachers, and loved ones gathered to celebrate the achievements of our young learners.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome address from our Centre head, Ms.Natasha Baruah, who expressed gratitude to the parents for entrusting their children to the preschool. She highlighted the importance of early childhood education in laying a strong foundation for future learning and development.
The highlight of the event was the delightful performances by the preschoolers. From heartwarming songs to charming dance routines, the children showcased their talents and enthusiasm on stage, leaving the audience in awe of their adorable antics. They also shared about their aim in life.
Later, dressed in adorable graduation caps and gowns, the children marched into the venue with beaming smiles, accompanied by applause and cheers from the audience.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was the presentation of graduation certificates to each preschool graduate. As their names were called out, the children proudly walked across the stage to receive their certificates, accompanied by applause and cheers from their families.
The event also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the unwavering support and dedication of the parents throughout the preschool journey. A special tribute was paid to the parents for their love, encouragement, and involvement in their children's education.
The ceremony concluded with inspiring words of encouragement from the preschool teachers, Parent teacher association members and parents. They commended the children for their hard work, determination, and enthusiasm, and encouraged them to embrace the next chapter of their educational journey with confidence and curiosity.
The preschool graduation day was a heartwarming celebration of little achievements and big dreams. It was a reminder of the transformative power of early childhood education in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. In-House Republic Day Celebration
On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day Birla Open Minds Preschool in Gopanpally orchestrated a vibrant and enlightening in-house republic celebration on 25 th January 2024, encapsulating the spirit of patriotism and national pride. The event was a testament to the school's commitment to holistic education and fostering a deep appreciation for India's rich heritage and democratic values.
The highlight of the Republic Day celebration was a unique and insightful segment where children enthusiastically adorned costumes of renowned freedom fighters. The event aimed to educate the young minds about the sacrifices and bravery of these iconic figures who played pivotal roles in shaping the nation's destiny.
The preschoolers, adorned in captivating attire representing figures such as Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and Sarojini Naidu, brought history to life through their heartfelt portrayals. Each child, with innocence and enthusiasm, took to the stage to share anecdotes and snippets from the lives of these revered heroes, captivating the audience with their eloquence and passion for the subject matter.
Through this engaging activity, the children not only showcased their creativity and public speaking skills but also imbibed invaluable lessons in courage, resilience, and patriotism. The portrayal of freedom fighters served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our ancestors to secure the freedoms and rights we cherish today.
The event also featured stirring renditions of patriotic songs and teachers reinforcing the significance of Republic Day and fostering a sense of unity and national pride among the preschool community.
In-house Guru Nanank Jayanti
On Friday,24 th November 2023, we joyously celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti, a festival commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. The school was decorated as per the event. The preschool embraced the spirit of unity, love, and compassion as young minds learned about the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
The celebration began with an interactive storytelling session where the educators shared age- appropriate stories aligning it with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Colorful visuals and props were used to engage the preschoolers and capture their imagination.
Preschoolers engaged in creative art and craft activities related to Guru Nanak Jayanti. They made Chaur Sahib and enjoyed expressing their creativity in a fun and educational manner. Children also sang the Mool Mantra-Ek Onkar after the teachers.
A special snack time where children and teachers sat together to enjoy a simple and nutritious meal. This activity aimed to instill the values of equality and togetherness.
In-house Diwali celebrations
We celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm and joy on Friday, 10th November 2023. The event aimed to educate the young minds about the cultural significance of Diwali, fostering a sense of unity, and spreading the spirit of happiness and light as well as taking care of the environment. The school premises were adorned with vibrant decorations, reflecting the traditional and colorful atmosphere of Diwali. The classrooms, corridors, and common areas were adorned with rangoli, diyas (clay lamps), fairy lights, and colorful paper crafts. Children, teachers, and staff dressed in traditional Indian attire, adding a cultural touch to the celebration. The sight of little ones in colorful dresses brought an extra element of joy to the event. The celebration commenced with a short assembly where teachers explained the significance of Diwali. Children of K1performeda skit on importance of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali. Group dance of children on Diwali numbers was worth seeing as they gracefully swayed to the music. They learned about the epic of Ramayana and the triumph of good over evil through an age appropriate video during the ICT time. They painted beautiful diyas under the guidance of their teachers. The Diwali celebration was a resounding success, providing a memorable and educational experience for the children
Grandparent's day, Bathukamma and Dusshera Celebrations
“The relationship shared between a child and the grandparent is based on pure and unconditional love.” Our children and teachers made the day special for our grandparents by celebrating Dussehra and Bathukamma together. Being a part of their grandchildren’s learning journey brought immense satisfaction in each grandparent’s heart.
Event report-Teacher’s Day
Teacher’s Day event on Wednesday,6th September 2023 began with a warm and colorful welcome at the entrance of the preschool. The preschool premises was decorated with beautiful handmade decorative items. As the teachers entered, they were greeted with smiles and handmade cards by children. K2 level parents and children prepared a series of delightful performances to entertain and honor the teachers. These performances included songs, dances, and skits, all showcasing the talent and creativity of the children. The teachers were visibly touched by these heartfelt presentations. Parents took turns expressing their gratitude to the teachers through speeches and written notes. They shared personal anecdotes of how the teachers had positively impacted their children's lives and development. The teachers were moved to tears by these heartfelt testimonials. The DSR Educational Society had also organized a grand teacher’s day celebration on Saturday,2nd September 2023 at JRC Conventions and Trade Fairs ,Hyderabad.
Event Report-Janamastami Celebration
Janamastami, also known as Krishna Janamastami, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. At Birla Open Minds Preschool Gopanpally, we believe in fostering cultural awareness and celebrating diverse traditions. On Wednesday,6th September 2023, we organized a special Janamastami celebration to introduce our young learners to this significant Indian festival. The Janamastami celebrations at our preschool were planned meticulously to ensure a meaningful and enjoyable experience for our students. The preschool was adorned with colorful decorations, including rangoli designs, flower garlands, and pictures of Lord Krishna. A beautifully decorated cradle (jhula) with an image of Lord Krishna was kept to explain children about Lord Krishna and importance of his birth. Children and teachers performed aarti infront of Lord Krishna’s image. The children came dressed as little Krishnas and Radhas, adorned in vibrant costumes. The creativity and effort put into these costumes were truly commendable. Teachers narrated age-appropriate stories about the life of Lord Krishna, highlighting his playful and mischievous nature. The children were captivated by these stories. Level-wise children danced to the tunes of Krishna songs. A fun-filled matki phod (pot-breaking) activity was organized during the dismissal. Children took turns to try and break a hanging pot filled with candy, mimicking the popular Krishna tradition. Parents also enjoyed being spectators during the dismissal time. Children took their creative craft work home to celebrate Krishna Ashtami at home.
Event Report-Ganapati Celebration
Ganesh Chaturthi, a widely celebrated Hindu festival, marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed God of wisdom and prosperity. Birla Open Minds Preschool in Gopanpally organized a vibrant and spiritually enriching Ganapati celebration to instill cultural values and traditions among its young learners. The event kicked off with the unveiling of an eco-friendly Ganesh idol made from clay. A traditional Ganapati Pooja (prayer) was conducted by a teachers who explained the significance of the festival and the rituals to the children. It was a great learning opportunity for the young attendees. The preschoolers and their teachers put on a delightful cultural program that included songs, dances, and skits related to Lord Ganesha. The performances showcased the children's creativity and enthusiasm. Students actively participated in art and craft activity where they created their own mini Ganesh idols using eco-friendly materials. This activity encouraged creativity and a sense of responsibility toward the environment. The event included a soulful rendition of the Ganesh Aarti, which created a serene and devotional atmosphere. Children and teachers joined in the singing, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Children and staff dressed in traditional attire, adding a colorful and festive touch to the event. The Ganapati celebration at Birla Open Minds Preschool, Gopanpally, was a resounding success with parents coming for the Darshan during dismissal. It not only celebrated the rich culture and traditions associated with Ganesh Chaturthi but also imparted valuable lessons about environmental sustainability and community participation to the young learners. Event Report-Raksha Bandhan
A heartwarming Raksha Bandhan celebration was organized on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, to instill cultural values and create a sense of unity among its young students. The event took place in the vibrant and cheerful outdoor of the preschool. Raksha Bandhan, a traditional Indian festival celebrating the bond between siblings, was beautifully adapted to suit the preschool environment. The school was adorned with colorful decorations representing the festive spirit of Raksha Bandhan. Vibrant paper rakhis, paper cutouts of traditional Indian motifs, and posters explaining the significance of the festival added a festive touch to the venue. Children and teachers were dressed in colorful Indian attire, adding an authentic touch to the celebration. Girls wore traditional dresses, and boys were dressed in kurta-pajamas, creating a visually appealing atmosphere. One of the main activities was rakhi-making. The children were provided with various art supplies such as colorful threads, beads, and decorative elements. Under the guidance of their teachers, they enthusiastically created their own rakhis. This activity encouraged creativity and fine motor skill development. A skit by teachers explained the significance of Raksha Bandhan to the children. The teachers narrated a simplified version of the legend associated with the festival, highlighting the bond between brothers and sisters. Children performed dance expression their happiness towards the celebration. Each child tied a handmade rakhi onto the wrist of their fellow classmate, symbolizing the bond of friendship and protection. This activity promoted a sense of unity and caring among the children. A photo booth was set up related to Raksha Bandhan. Children and teachers had a great time posing for pictures, capturing the memories of the festive day.
Transition time
Singing and dancing can help make routine activities and transitions smoother and more enjoyable. Music tempo also helps to set up a mood. Quiet, soothing music calms and relaxes children, while a lively tune creates an energetic clean-up. Our Nursery children and new joiners are smoothly overcoming the transition phase through music and movement time as well as outdoor playtime.
Inhouse Vanmohatsav Celebration
The Culmination of a week-long Van Mahotsav celebration at Birla Open Minds Preschool Gopanpally was held on 7th July 2023 to raise awareness about the importance of trees and to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment in our young students. The event aimed to educate the children about the significance of trees and foster a love for nature through various engaging activities. We began the event by introducing the concept of Van Mahotsav to the children. Through a simplified explanation, we discussed the vital role that trees play in our lives, including providing oxygen, supporting wildlife, and preventing soil erosion. The children were encouraged to ask questions and actively participate in the discussion. To enhance the children's understanding, K2 children enacted a captivating story that highlighted the importance of trees and forests. The stories conveyed valuable messages about the need to protect and nurture our environment. Nursery and K1 children performed dances on songs related to trees, animals and birds to celebrate the festival. To nurture the children's creativity and love for nature, we organized various art and craft activities. The children enthusiastically created tree-themed artwork, made leaf imprints using different materials. These activities allowed them to explore their artistic abilities while reinforcing the importance of trees and the beauty of nature. The celebration concluded with a reflection on the importance of trees and gratitude for the gifts of nature. We highlighted the activities and discussions that took place during the event, emphasizing the children's role in continuing to care for trees and the environment in their daily lives. The event served as a stepping stone in nurturing a love for nature and instilling environmental consciousness in our students.
Bonalu
Our Preschool celebrated the traditional Indian festival of Bonalu with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. Bonalu is a popular festival celebrated in the southern Indian states, especially Telangana, to honor the Goddess Mahakali. The event aimed to introduce the significance of this festival to the young minds and instill cultural values among the preschoolers. The staff members worked diligently to create a festive ambiance that reflected the spirit of the Bonalu celebration. The classrooms and common areas were beautifully decorated with leaves and flower garlands. The preschool was adorned with colorful decorations, rangolis, and traditional motifs. The preschoolers arrived dressed in traditional Indian attire. To educate the children about the significance of Bonalu, a storytelling session was arranged. The children listened attentively. The support staff prepared BONAM - a pot decorated with neem leaves, haldi-kumkum flowers and diyas representing goddess Kali. The preparation was shown to the children. The children participated in traditional dance forms. The teachers guided the children and encouraged them throughout the performances. The children prepared beautiful art work related to the festival.

Families and schools are two essential stakeholders in enabling the healthy development and educational success of children. Our Parent Teacher Association members had a wonderful discussion during their first meeting for the AY 23-24.
In-house International Tigers Day Celebration
International Tiger Day was celebrated at our preschool through the online –Home and School based learning programme. Inspite of massive rains and schools being closed, our teacher’s did not give up to spread and raise awareness about the conservation of these majestic creatures. They planned the online event in a fantastic way through a short child-friendly video about tigers, their behavior, and their natural habitat. They shared a presentation about interesting facts about tigers in a fun and interactive way. A show and tell activity was conducted where children were asked to show and speak two lines about any tiger toy or a picture they had at home. Children were dressed in orange colour dress depicting their love for tigers. During the art time children drew tigers in abstract forms and coloured them. By celebrating International Tiger Day, we believe that we not only educated the children about these incredible animals but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards wildlife conservation.
Friendship Day
The Friendship Day was celebrated at our school on Saturday, 5th August 2023.It was a resounding success. The event not only brought smiles to the children's faces but also instilled essential values of friendship, compassion, and teamwork. It was a joyous occasion that strengthened the bonds between the young ones and created lasting memories for both the children and the preschool staff. The teachers meticulously planned a series of fun and engaging activities. A storytelling session followed, wherein teachers narrated a story on friendship with puppets. The children were captivated seeing the puppets come to life and listening to the story which conveyed valuable lessons about sharing, caring and supporting one another. A heartwarming craft activity where each child was provided with colorful paper strips and smileys to make friendship bracelets. The kids enthusiastically created unique bracelets for their friends. Teachers also made for their co-teachers and gifted it. Games like "Musical Chairs" and "Pass the Parcel" brought laughter and excitement as they cheered for their friends and encouraged each other during the circle time. The event concluded with a heartwarming Friendship Day celebration finale. The children gathered in a circle, held hands, and sang a song about friendship together.
Cumination
Instead of taking a test that asks children to recall information, a culmination event provides an opportunity to young learners to synthesize ideas and build on what they’ve learned during the theme. Our K2 students can be seen demonstrating their learning infront of the parents. Children were motivated by the parent’s involvement in the event.
Rain Walk
Rain is a natural part of the environment, and preschoolers should have the opportunity to explore and
enjoy outdoor activities, even when it's raining. By removing the fear of rain, we encourage them to embrace
nature and engage in outdoor play, which is essential for their overall development.Our K1 children can be
seen enjoying the rain walk with their colourful umbrellas.
In - house Teddy Bear Party
On Monday, 10th July 2023 Birla Open Minds Preschool in Gopanpally organized a delightful Teddy Bear Party for the nursery level children. The event aimed to provide a fun-filled and interactive experience for the children, promoting social interaction, imagination, and creativity and settlement. The preschool staff, teachers, and parents all worked together to make the event a memorable one. The event commenced with a lively Teddy Bear Parade, where each child proudly displayed their favorite teddy bear. The children, dressed in pink and blue coloured costumes, walked through the class with excitement and joy, showcasing their unique teddy bears. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and awe as the children's creativity shone through their selected companions. Circle time with teddy, do along with teddy was enjoyed by all the children. Magic show was the major attraction of the day. By the end of the show all the children were able to chant the magical spell word-‘ABRACADABRA’ with laughter and giggles.After the parade, the children engaged in a teddy bear-themed craft activity. Children created personalized teddy bear head gear with the help of the facilitator. These activities allowed the children to explore their artistic abilities and imagination. A story telling session captivated the children's attention as they listened to an enchanting tale about the teddy bear family. The highlight of the event was a teddy bear party where the nursery children and their teddy bears gathered in a designated area, set with a long snack table. The children, along with their teddy bear companions, enjoyed a delicious snack. The Teddy Bear Party will be remembered as a significant milestone in the preschool's commitment to holistic child development and nurturing young minds.

In-house Father's Day Celebration
On June 24, 2023, a vibrant and heartwarming Father's Day celebration took place
at our school. Father and the child came dressed in twinning colours. The event
aimed to honor and appreciate fathers and father figures for their immense
contribution to their families and society. The event kicked off with an
energetic ceremony with an introduction. The father’s shared emotional journey
of their fatherhood.
A fun-filled group activity for fathers was organized. The father’s dramatized
the lion and the mouse story depicting an emotion. The father and child enjoyed
the art activity where they created personalized cards and craft activity
together. A specially designed photo booth was set up, adorned with Father's
Day-themed props and decorations. Families eagerly posed for memorable
snapshots, capturing their joyous moments together. Children drew their father’s
priority two days prior which displayed in the garden area. Seeing the abstract
portrait, father’s shared their happiness and emotion with the teachers.
The event fostered a sense of togetherness and appreciation among attendees
while providing an enjoyable platform for fathers and children to connect
through various engaging activities. The celebration left a lasting impact on
everyone present, reminding them of the significance of fatherhood and the value
of cherishing family bonds.

Learning Environment
Our warm, welcoming, and conducive environment along with a well-designed Birla Early Year’s curriculum helps us to meet the developmental needs of young children. One of the main reasons for the early settlement of playgroup children in our preschools is the sense of security that children experience within the learning space at school. Our friendly, qualified, and caring early years teachers also provide individual attention and support to each child developing a strong bond with the child as well as the parent.
Mud Day Celebration
We hosted a vibrant and joyful celebration in honor of International Mud Day on
Wednesday, 28th June 2023. The event aimed to provide a fun and engaging
experience for the preschoolers while fostering their sensory development,
creativity, and appreciation for nature. With a variety of activities centered
on playing and exploring in the mud, the International Mud Day celebration
proved to be a memorable and exciting event. Arrival time each grade prepared a
mud day poster with the mud handprints. Indoor activities were also organized
for those who preferred a less messy experience.
The children engaged in
mud-themed crafts, such as creating handprint art using mud as paint. Teachers
explained emphasized the importance of nature and the role mud plays in the
environment through flashcards. Teachers conducted interactive sessions where
they discussed the benefits of mud, its impact on plants and animals, and the
significance of taking care of our natural surroundings. The children actively
participated in these discussions, showing a growing understanding and
appreciation for the environment. By celebrating International Mud Day, we
instilled a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world, leaving a
lasting impression on the young minds.
International Yoga and World Music Day
On 21st June 2023, we celebrated International Yoga and World Music Day with
great enthusiasm. The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being
among the children and create awareness about the significance of yoga and music
in their lives. The preschool staff and the children actively participated in
the event, making it a memorable and engaging experience for everyone involved.
The event began with a series of yoga sessions specially designed for young
children.
Guest Yoga instructors, Ms. Shikha Ranjan led the sessions, focusing
on simple and child-friendly yoga poses and breathing exercises. The children
eagerly participated and followed the instructions, showcasing their flexibility
and enthusiasm. In line with the World Music Day theme, the event included
various engaging music activities. Children were introduced to different musical
instruments, such as drums, tambourines, and xylophones. They had the
opportunity to explore the instruments, play them, and experience the joy of
creating music. The teachers also joined in, creating a lively and harmonious
atmosphere by singing and playing a guitar. Children made colorful art and craft
activities with music-themed drawings. The artwork was sent home.

Preparations are underway to ensure that students return to a safe and secure learning environment for a new academic year filled with new opportunities, challenges, and growth. The excitement surrounding the start of the new school year is palpable." Our teachers and staff members are eagerly waiting to welcome back our children, next week for the new academic session.
Health Check Up for support staff
“Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.” - Buddha.” A vision test and a complete blood test have been conducted for the diagnostic health assessment of our support staff in collaboration with Healthrect keeping in mind their physical well-being.
